Join GVI’s sister organisation, Bushwise, for 6–12 months of immersive training, game drives, bush walks, and wildlife learning in the heart of the South African Lowveld, near Kruger National Park. This is where passionate nature lovers become skilled, confident safari professionals ready to start their careers in the guiding or ecotourism industry.
The IFGA Professional Safari Guide Course is one of the most comprehensive programs of its kind. Bushwise is the exclusive Southern African training provider for International Field Guide Association (IFGA) certifications, and earning an IFGA designation can help your CV stand out amongst other applicants.Â
Before arriving on campus, you’ll complete an online learning module and write the CATHSSETA NQF2 Nature Site Guide exam. This means everyone starts training with the same foundation.
Once on campus, you’ll continue your studies and practical training at an NQF4 level. Unique to Bushwise, the NQF4 training and assessment are included at no additional cost.Â
If you choose the 12-month option, you’ll also complete a six-month work placement at a top lodge or reserve – gaining valuable, real-world experience that sets you apart in the industry. After a year of guiding experience, you can return to complete your final practical assessment and earn your formal qualification.
Spend 6 or 12 months with Bushwise and take the first step toward becoming a world-class safari guide.
