Volunteer with ARCHELON’s endangered sea turtles project in historic Greece.

As a volunteer on one of our marine conservation projects in conjunction with ARCHELON’s local project, you will live and work in Giannitsochori, a small and traditional village. This is the site of ancient sea turtle nesting routes, and you will be contributing to project work focussed on critical conservation efforts to preserve and protect this essential coastal habitat.

Giannitsochori volunteer projects

Overview

The project site in Greece is a 10 minute walk from the village of Giannitsochori, in the municipality of Zacharo, southern Elis. It is situated in the narrow coastal plains along the Ionian Sea, 2km north of the mouth of the river Neda, at the foot of the western extensions of the mountain Minthi. 

It is a well-known beach resort with amazing Greek historical ruins close by.
