With its sandy shores, clear waters and serene atmosphere, the coast of Ghana offers visitors a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. From the popular tourist destinations to secret spots, here’s a guide to the best beaches in Ghana.
Kokrobite Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Ghana and serves as a hub for tourists looking to sunbathe, swim and enjoy the nightlife scene. Popular with both tourists and locals, Labadi Beach is known for its long strip of golden sand and swaying palm trees. Bojo Beach in Accra is a beautiful spot that offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and breathtaking sunsets you don’t want to miss out on. Check out Busua Beach which offers crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkelling or diving, and the nearby forest with trails perfect for exploring.
If you’re looking for something a bit more off-the-beaten-track, try Dixcove Beach. This secluded white-sand beach is located a few miles outside of Takoradi. Even on peak days, visitors can find a quiet corner where they can relax and unwind. Another hidden gem worth exploring is Big Ada Beach. A bit further to the east, this beach is known for its tranquillity, as it is only accessible via boat and far removed from the crowds.
