The saying “less is more” is generally one that can be applied to a variety of areas. For myself, this applies to tomato sauce, exercise and perfume. Here at the Global Vision International (GVI) Kerala hub however, “less is more” definitely does not apply. Our team has recently expanded to include three new and excited, if not slightly jet-lagged, members. With our expanding team and the incredible amount of experience, motivation and dedication they bring to the Kerala hub, we thought we’d begin to introduce ourselves to those who are looking to come out and volunteer with us.
Our team is currently made up of 14 members with a diverse range of roles. Each member has a specific program or area they focus on but we love our team to have a good understanding of all the programs, so we do mix and match where needed. Having an integrated team who share their knowledge and can work interchangeably when necessary, is crucial in the creation of a strong and sustainable team.
Each team member brings something unique to the table and the blend of personalities and strengths is hand-picked to ensure the strongest possible team. The current mix of humour, kindness, sarcasm, patience, time-keeping fiends, and relaxed natures make our team a dynamic blend. We support each other, challenge each other and sometimes test each others patience, but overall we are on this journey together.
What does this mean for you? This means that as a team we bring a range of skills, personalities, weaknesses and strengths that when combined with yours, make for an unforgettable volunteering experience. We’ll bring our best and we can’t wait to see yours.
