Volunteer Travel in South Africa, Swaziland & Mozambique
Side Trips
In your first week you will visit Kruger National Park, South Africa’s largest game reserve and the home to some fantastic wildlife that includes lions, zebras, elephants, rhinos and leopards. On the first day of the trip you will enter the park through one of the southern gates and travel to your camp, where you will help set up camp (put up the tents, prepare a fire, etc). You will spend day two and three on safari from the vehicle. Day four is more flexible and volunteers can choose to relax, join a drive, and go on a bush walk or night drive to try and get a glimpse of some hyenas. On day five you return to Swaziland.
In week four you will travel to Mozambique. On day one you will travel to Maputo (the capital) to stay overnight. During days two to five, you will stay in a beach-style reed hut at a lodge in Tofo. Here you will have the opportunity to visit the local food and craft markets, enjoy water sports and adventure activities as well as snorkelling with whale sharks. On the sixth day you travel back to Swaziland for your final two weeks of volunteer work.
