Born in Wembley, UK, Mark started his early studies in Latymer Upper school in Hammersmith moving on to Manchester Metropolitan University to study for a degree in Biology and Psychology. After several ecological studies of large mammals, Mark moved on to an MSc in Behavioural Ecology then went on to independent research work, publishing several papers on his research in both south America and Madagascar.

Born in Noosa Heads in Australia, Brett first went to Madagascar working for botanical gardens collecting seeds for national collections.
