Overview
Field Guide Course in South Africa
Qualify as a safari field guide in Kruger National Park
From tracking animal movements in the dramatic African bush to falling asleep to the sound of hyenas, this South African course takes volunteers to truly experience the life of a field guide in South Africa. In the spectacular Kruger National Park (South Africa’s largest game reserve), volunteers will go on exciting bush walks and game drives to spot zebras, elephants and the range of wildlife that the reserve is home to; and have lectures from experienced game rangers on a range of subjects, from mammals to trees. You can choose between joining the 28-day course or the FGASA course (which is the same except it requires you to take exams and assessments) when you volunteer overseas with GVI in South Africa.
I have always wanted to work as a field guide and this course prepared and qualified me, and also assisted with job placement. I will be back for my trails guide course next year.
