The Booking Process

Once GVI receives your application form, one of our experienced regional coordinators will give you a call to find out if you have any further questions, or simply want to find out more about volunteering. All GVI staff regularly visit the project sites, and have volunteered and travelled themselves, so have an in-depth knowledge and boundless enthusiasm that ensures your application process runs smoothly and efficiently.

Arrival And Departure Information

You must arrive on the published start date of the expedition. Once you have arrived in Johannesburg International Airport, you will join a coach organized by GVI to transfer expedition members directly to one of the expedition bases. This journey takes approximately five hours - it's also a good opportunity to meet your fellow participants and see a bit of the countryside before you arrive at the base. Please note that this is at your own expense, and costs an additional UK£60 / US$103 / 90 Euro return.
