Overview
Field Guide Course in South Africa
Qualify as a safari field guide in Kruger National Park
From tracking animal movements in the dramatic African bush to falling asleep to the sound of hyenas, this South African course takes participants to truly experience the life of a Field Guide in South Africa. In the spectacular Kruger National Park (South Africa’s largest game reserve), participants will go on exciting bush walks and game drives to spot zebras, elephants and the range of wildlife that the reserve is home to; and have lectures from experienced game rangers on a range of subjects, from mammals to trees. You can choose between joining the 28-day course or the FGASA course, which is the same except it requires you to take exams and assessments.
It’s incredible here! This course has taught me so many things about the bush and all the life within it – from the tiny aspects to the Big 5, and the trees to the stars. It has truly broadened my understanding of how complex an environment is and made me appreciate Africa even more. I get to fall asleep to the sounds of the bush and wake up to the calls of the birds (which I can now identify!) I don’t know how I will ever leave.
