Volunteer Travel in Ecuador
Although only a small country, Conservation International lists Ecuador as one of seventeen of the worlds megadiverse countries as it contains such a rich array of flora and fauna. This remarkable country takes its name from the fact that it straddles the equator, and is home to thick rainforests, legendary tropical beaches and spellbinding volcanic landscapes. Rich in ancient heritage, a large area of the country once formed part of the Incan Empire and contains a great deal of remarkably well-preserved colonial architecture.
Volunteer Travel in Ecuador gives you the a chance to experience South American indigenous culture first-hand, as you explore the many small villages whose existence has been left virtually untouched by the passage of time. Yet even the well-trodden tourist trails offer unusual experiences in this exciting country; such as the steaming thermal baths of BaƱos, treks through captivating wilderness and an evenings entertainment watching a traditional Andean band. A little country with a great deal to offer, Ecuador is a fantastic and different destination in which to volunteer abroad.
