Volunteer Travel in Brazil
The fact that Brazil is the fifth most populated country in the world yet is the 182nd most densely populated demonstrates what a great destination the country is for volunteer travel. The majority of the population is to be found along the long eastern coast, leaving much of the interior of the country a vast, relatively empty wilderness that is home to a giant ecosystem full of exotic plants and rare animals, many of which are found nowhere else on the planet. The populated metropolises also hold places that are also like nowhere else on the planet, no more so than infamous Rio de Janeiro. Visit the cities during carnaval (the annual festival season) to let your hair down before going along to cheer along to a spectacular football match.
From vibrant urban jungles to lush green jungles, Brazil has it all. The half of the Amazon Rainforest that lies within Brazils borders is responsible for creating ten percent of the worlds oxygen. Therefore being a part of any project that gives you the opportunity to contribute towards the perpetuation of the Amazon environment and its wildlife has to be one of the more worthwhile ways to spend your time when volunteering overseas.
