This has created a tolerant and open-minded society with a diverse mix of ethnicities and a welcoming atmosphere, making Panama a fantastic destination for anyone wishing to volunteer abroad.
There are a great number of gorgeous beaches and tropical islands to be found on the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, as well as lush mountain forests and villages so remote that they can only be reached in dugout canoes to be explored further inland. In the wonderfully cosmopolitan Panama City great shopping, markets, museums and the chic discotecas are all close enough together to be enjoyed in one fabulous day out before you venture to see the Panama Canal, one of the most awe-inspiring feats of engineering in the world. In short, anyone volunteering in Panama can look forward to enjoying a rich experience in a country where old traditions and modern thinking exist harmoniously together.
