Volunteer Travel in Honduras
Spanning from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean, the beautifully rugged and mountainous country of Honduras is a bit of an undiscovered gem. Anyone who volunteers abroad in Honduras is always impressed to find something a little more off the beaten track, from the cloud forest of Parque Nacional La Muralla to the hieroglyphic staircase of the Mayan Ruins at Copan, the Pacific lowlands along the Gulf of Fonseca to Hondurass many frontier towns scattered amongst the untamed terrain.
Anyone who thinks volunteer travel should include something that bit more adventurous than usual can try snorkeling or diving off palm-fringed beaches in the clear Caribbean waters of the Bay Islands with a wide variety of marine life. Here amid the great Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System the audacious volunteer might have the opportunity to swim alongside bottlenose dolphins, manta rays and even the elusive whale shark.
