Volunteer Travel in Belize
Belize has it all: gorgeous, mangrove-lined beaches, ancient Mayan ruins, awesome caves, and villages echoing with the infectious beats of Garifuna drums. There are a host of undiscovered treasures to be found between the peaks of its rugged mountains and the shores of its turquoise waters. Hear the sound of howler monkeys as you explore lush jungles, see a kaleidoscope of colorful fish and corals diving in crystalline Caribbean waters, climb to the top of the impressive Mayan site of Lamanai, and explore the tropical paradise islands of the cayes.
With the largest barrier reef in the Americas and forty-two percent of the country designated as protected terrain, it is easy to see why Belize is a paradise for the adventurous volunteer with eco-tourism in mind. Whether it’s the breathtaking scenery, the rich biodiversity or the vibrant Caribbean culture; international expeditions in Belize have something to offer even the most adventurous volunteer.
