Volunteer Travel in Nepal
Nestled between India and Tibet in the Himalayas, Nepal is a mountainous and rugged nation that contains some of the most awesome and breathtaking scenery on the planet. Anyone who chooses volunteer travel in Nepal will find themselves in a uniquely mystical country in which crumbling monuments, temples and Buddha stupas line ancient pilgrim trails that lead to crystal lakes and snow capped peaks.
It may well have some of the best walking in the world, but Nepal is also much more than a series of inclines and declines. As well as the legendary and bustling capital city of Katmandu, the national parks in the south of Nepal are home to some fascinating and often rare wildlife, including the Bengal tiger, the Indian rhinoceros, wild oxen, crocodiles, deer and a staggering 450 species of birds. Add to this the prospect of white-water rafting down picturesque rivers and you can see why volunteering in Nepal is a memorable experience that stays with people long after they leave.
