As the world’s largest continent, Asia holds virtually every sort of landscape imaginable within its borders. From the steamy jungles of Thailand to the white sand beaches of Indonesia, the emerald tea plantations of Sri Lanka to the snow capped peaks of Nepal; Asia brims with the breathtaking diversity. With nearly two-thirds of the world’s population, Asia is also a remarkable melting pot of people, ideas, religions and cultures. Some of the world’s oldest recorded civilizations came from the heart of what is now Asia and an astonishing amount of visible history can be enjoyed by anyone volunteering here. Awe-inspiring feats of human achievement, including the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Army, the Reunification Express of Vietnam and the Giant Buddha’s of Sri Lanka, stand gloriously throughout Asia to captivate and inspire.

Volunteer Travel in Asia will take you on a unique adventure to this land of magic and mystery that is filled with fabled travel destinations and glorious scenery. Five of the world’s megadiverse countries are in Asia and much of the work that Global Vision International does in the continent aims to conserve its fragile areas. Sometimes that means working with rare animals like elephants and gibbons, but it also often means working with the people of these countries, such as the Buddhist Monks of Laos or the indigenous communities of Borneo. One of the most enticing things about taking volunteering work in Asia is that you are given the chance to experience everyday Asian life in a unique and in-depth way. Whether you teach in schools and orphanages in the Himalayas, care for abandoned street children in India or join any of the variety of other volunteering programs in Asia; you can experience the amazing buzz of everyday life which only comes by getting involved with local people and communities.
