Volunteer Travel in Rwanda
The Land of a Thousand Hills has a much-documented recent history that may not help many people to think of it as an ideal location in which to volunteer overseas. But this remarkably beautiful country has struggled on in defiance of its past and works today to become a unified nation worthy of the stunning landscape and precious, rare wildlife that it contains. Volunteering in Rwanda gives you the opportunity to become a small part of this future.
Due to an overall high elevation, this tropical country has a surprisingly temperate climate and is covered in lush grasslands and often thick forest and vegetation. Snow is even known to fall in the mountains. Rwanda is a place to be wowed by nature, whether you meet majestic mountain gorillas or enjoy the raw power being unleashed in the lightning capital of the world. In this land-locked country you can relax on the pristine beaches of Lake Kivu between tracking golden monkeys, scaling volcanoes and marveling at the plethora of gorgeous views.
