About Our Programs
When setting up new programs GVI takes every precaution to ensure they are necessary and worthwhile, whilst being enjoyable and safe for all the volunteers involved. GVI therefore makes sure all the projects we run are set up with our project partners to act in the best interests of the environment and community. We also ensure for every project the volunteers are needed on the ground and the aims of the project are measurable and achievable in the long term.
GVI has certain requirements of its project partners, and all these pre-requisites are checked before new programs start. After being approached by potential partners GVI will hold discussions and meetings to assess our partners, their aims and our compatibility. GVI receives hundreds of applications each year from potential partners, though not all partnerships are suitable for GVI as they may not match our strict requirements and, on occasion, GVI may not be the most appropriate organization for potential partners. GVI are duty bound to recognize this as we have an obligation to offer our partners exactly what they need.
Through partnerships, education and economic support we help our project partners achieve their aims and objectives. This is done by supplying them with paying volunteers; giving them manpower and additional funding for their work to continue into the future. Some of our project partners are known internationally whilst others are small, independent grassroots organizations. Their size and prestige is not important, but their long term commitment to a cause is paramount.
