We understand that your trip can take a year to prepare for, but only a second to ruin. While you can't do anything to prevent unforeseen illness, injury, inclement weather, baggage damage or many other unpredictable circumstances either before or during travel, you should definitely consider purchasing additional travel insurance when traveling with Global Vision International, as it is a condition of travel with GVI that you have sufficient medical and travel insurance.
For travelers from the United States and Canada GVI has made arrangements with Travel Guard Insurance to provide a custom comprehensive plan at a very affordable cost.
If you are traveling for 180 days or less, the Travel Protection Plan is intended and available for any program through the link below.
If you are participating in any program that is over 180 days and up to 1 year in length, please refer to the Worldwide Health Plan that is also available through the link below (divers purchasing the Worldwide Health Plan will also need coverage for diving, which can be obtained separately through Divers Alert Network (DAN) or by adding the Sports Rider supplement during the purchase process).
These provide valuable coverage in addition to your own health insurance policy or other existing insurance policies, should certain other unexpected events arise while traveling.

NB:
- Insurance is underwritten by National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa., a Pennsylvania Insurance Company (NAIC #19445) with its principal place of business at 70 Pine Street, New York, NY 10270, currently authorized to transact business in all states and the District of Columbia. The Policy will contain reductions, limitations, exclusions and termination provisions. All coverages may not be available in all states.
- This insurance may be purchased by anyone from North America traveling with GVI but please read the full details of the policy before purchase and if in doubt, discuss you full itinerary with Travel Guard Insurance.
- These policies cannot be extended, as such please ensure you are insured for the entirety of your trip.
- Please note that GVI accepts no responsibility for insurance purchases and it is up to the traveler to ensure they purchase the correct policy for the full duration of their trip.
- It is also the responsibility of the traveler to ensure that all medical conditions disclosed to GVI are also disclosed to the insurer when arranging the policy cover.
