Volunteer Travel in Sri Lanka

Not surprisingly, a country which is also known as the Teardrop of India and the Pearl of the Orient is a beautiful and interesting place to anyone doing volunteer work in Sri Lanka. The island nation is blessed with glorious mountains, thick rainforests and gorgeous beaches containing an abundance of diverse wildlife.

A significant tea producer, the island is dotted with plantations, as well as huge Buddha carvings and ancient cities just waiting to be explored. Watch the sun rise over Worlds End to look down on cloud tops hundreds of meters below; take an elephant trek to see crocodiles, jackals and leopards; and of course, join the exuberant crowds at a cricket match in one of the worlds great cricketing nations. With delicious food, friendly people and beautiful scenery, Sri Lanka is a fantastic destination for volunter travel.
