Volunteer Travel in South Africa

One of the most varied countries in Africa in terms of its landscapes, South Africa is an ideal and fascinating country for volunteer travel. One of the worlds 17 megadiverse countries, South Africa has particularly varied plant life and is like much of sub-Saharan Africa an understandably popular destination for safari expeditions. A variety of species of mammals live in its bushveld savanna, such as impala, giraffe, hippopotamus, hyena, blue wildebeest, lions, leopards and even the rare white rhino.

You may find yourself in the hot deserts of the Kalahari or on the lush, more Mediterranean coast near the Cape of Good Hope, where beautiful Cape Town is overlooked by the popular Table Mountain and vineyards produce world-famous wines. Wherever you are volunteering in South Africa, you are likely to have an experience to remember meeting friendly people with a rich and often complex past whose country is once again becoming an incredibly popular destination.
