What's Included
Pre-departure support and discounted services; airport pick up and transfer to base; food and accommodation; training materials and science equipment; basic Spanish tuition; Introduction to TEFL training; comprehensive training necessary for research techniques; overnight satellite camps in the forest to explore the reserve; a four-day Amazonian adventure exploration side trip; training in bush-craft and survival skills; an Emergency First Aid course; 24-hour in-country support; a 24-hour emergency phone line in the UK; and GVI’s Free Careers Abroad fieldwork placement and job vacancy service is available for ALL former expedition members (successful placements depend upon aptitude and attitude).
What's Not Included
International flights; medical and travel insurance; personal kit; spending money; inoculations and medication (NB: a rabies vaccination is obligatory for this expedition); spending money for personal purchases, social excursions away from the base, evening socialising, and post expedition travel.

Once GVI receives your application form, one of our experienced regional coordinators will give you a call to find out if you have any further questions, or simply want to find out more about volunteering. All GVI staff regularly visit the project sites, and have volunteered and travelled themselves, so have an in-depth knowledge and boundless enthusiasm that ensures your application process runs smoothly and efficiently.
Arrival And Departure Information
Volunteers should get a return flight to and from Mariscal Sucre Airport in Quito (UIO). More detailed information will be provided once your booking is confirmed.
